Travel guarantees
Travel guarantees are designed to protect travellers if a trip is cancelled or interrupted and the traveller does not receive a refund from the tour operator. The compensation is supposed to cover what the traveller paid for the trip and, if applicable, travel costs to return home. The most common reason for claims against travel guarantees is that operators go bankrupt.

The travel guarantee applies to package tours and certain other travel arrangements.
By law, everyone who organises or sells package tours must have a travel guarantee. The operator (organiser or retailer) arranges this either by notifying the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services of its business or, if certain conditions are met, the operator may be included in FörTurs Group Travel Guarantee
